Thrifting Adventure #1

Ever since I've discovered thrifting, you can say that I never looked at clothes the same way again, especially dresses. More especially when these days fashion houses keep turning out clothes that look just like the one grandma used to wear. If I can't get it at thrifting price, then I most probably won't buy it, unless it's a new type of pattern or style that one can't find amongst vintage pieces. A bad habit that I'm still trying to nip is the evil weevil 'grab first, think later' habit due to the low prices and eventually end up with a bunch of clothes that I probably won't wear. Oh, the evils of cheap clothes!

My favourite place to thrift in KL is Amcorp Mall. I love going to bazaars, but some of the vintage clothes there can be pretty exorbitantly priced. At first I was willing to pay for vintage clothes sold at bazaars (even though they're higher than thrifting price, it was still cheaper than clothes with the same cutting that are sold at the mall), but then I discovered that they all had to source those clothes somewhere... and so my origin search led me to Amcorp Mall.

These are some of the finds that I've harvested from the place:

Deadstock from Japan. Love the blue and of course the swing skirt. <3

    Liz Claiborne (petite) dress.

Loose floral-printed shift dress.

        Bodycon-ish dress.

What I refer to fondly as the 'tea-party dress'.

   Love the pockets and butt'ns!

Ivory-coloured dress, gorgeous in every way. :D

Next time I shall share my favourite pieces of clothing that I own, and some which I might be willing to part with...

For now I'll leave you all with another ad by Oliver Peoples eyewear, 'Les enfants s'ennuient le dimanche' (The children are bored on Sundays). I swear they're probably the best eyewear ads around. ;) Oh, and Shirley Manson's outfits are to die for. *sighs*

Cheers y'all!

P.S. Can anyone tell me what decade the ivory dress could be from? Thanks! :D

Hullo, one and all!

Ahoy, mateys! How ye be doin'?

To celebrate the first post of this fledgling blog, I'll throw out several 5 not-so-random facts about me. So here goes...

5 Not-So-Random Facts About Moi:

1.    I'm lazy. My previous blog attempt did not get beyond one post. D:

2.    I love vintage, retro stuff, so I'll be posting a lot along the lines of those. :)

3.    I'm not a great artist. You won't be seeing much creative photoshopping here, as much as I love to play around with it. I love photography, but because my camera isn't a DSLR, my photos tend to suck.

4.    You must pardon my penchance for the emo at times. :P

5.   As of now, I'm still not sure about what I want to do with this blog. I want to give selling my pre-loved stuffs a try (I have bucketloads of those, trust me). I also love thrifting clothes, buying them off the Internet, but sometimes they don't fit. I'm not a profit-oriented person (I've been given the rap by my mum for being too generous). I just enjoy giving good stuff to people who will appreciate them as much as I do. :)

So there you have it... thank you for your time, and I hope that you bear with me as I navigate the awkward blogger phase. As a token of appreciation, here's one of my favourite videos, featuring one of my favourite gals, Zooey Deschanel (isn't she just the cutest?! :D).

Cheers, y'all!
